About Orange Chair Art Studio

Orange Chair Art Studio is a small art studio, located on north Capitol Hill in Seattle,  teaching portraiture classes to kids taught by artist Barbara Trentalange. Elementary-aged children explore various medium to create lifelike and abstract portraits. Class size is limited to four students, age 5-10, per session.

Classes for older kids and adults are available upon request for groups of 4.


Barbara Trentalange Bio

Barbara Trentalange is a musician and visual artist residing in Seattle, WA with her husband and daughter. She re-discovered the love of painting after her daughter was born in 2010. As a former Graphic Designer, Trentalange combines her graphic design sensibilities and fine artistic styling to create unique works of art. Her work has been displayed in solo shows around Seattle and featured in the Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square and Ballard art walks as well as displayed at Sounder’s clubhouse theNINETY.

Barbara has teaching experience with both adults and children. She began her teaching career at the School of Visual Concepts, teaching adults how to design multimedia websites. For the past two years, she has taught art classes for elementary schools in the Seattle area.


At Orange Chair Art Studio students learn the fundamentals of portraiture. We explore different medium and styles. Students also learn about famous portrait artists and how they created their works of art which influences artists today.

Ongoing classes are one hour. Class size is limited to four students ages 5-10. See class schedule.
